Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 2026-06-03 Last updated: 2026-10-14

ElderHearth participates in affiliate programs. This page explains what that means, how affiliate links work, and how we disclose them, in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. § 255) and equivalent disclosure standards in other jurisdictions.

For questions, contact [email protected].

1. What "affiliate" means here

An affiliate link or referral form connects you with a third-party product or service and may pay us a commission if you complete a qualifying purchase. The commission comes from the merchant, not as a separate charge added by ElderHearth.

We use affiliate links to help cover the cost of running the Site (hosting, tools, research time). They do not influence which products we recommend.

2. Programs we participate in

  • Amazon Associates Program: As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Vive Health Affiliate Program: We may earn a commission from qualifying Vive Health purchases.
  • X-Sense through CJ Affiliate: We may earn a commission from qualifying X-Sense purchases tracked through CJ Affiliate.
  • Acorn Stairlifts Affiliate Program: We may earn a commission when an Acorn referral results in a qualifying completed stair lift purchase.
  • Ella's Bubbles: A direct partner link may pay a commission if you request a quote and later complete a qualifying purchase. The link goes to Ella's walk-in tub catalog. ElderHearth does not collect that quote form.

3. How we choose what to recommend

Our editorial recommendations are based on:

  • Manufacturer specifications and prices, checked on the provider's own page and dated when we cite them
  • Independent tests that already exist, cited to the organization that ran them
  • Published criteria for the comparison, so a commission does not decide the recommendation

A product's affiliate-commission rate does not affect whether or how we recommend it. We do not accept payment from merchants to write a positive review.

If a company sends a product, that is disclosed in the specific article.

We disclose the use of affiliate links:

  • On this page, in plain language
  • Before or next to the relevant affiliate link or embedded referral form
  • On the dedicated Acorn inquiry page, before the third-party form loads in the page

We do not hide or disguise affiliate links as if they were independent editorial references.

5. What we don't do

  • We do not accept payment for placing a product in a "best of" list.
  • We do not write reviews of products we have not researched in good faith.
  • We do not publish negative reviews of competitors of an affiliate partner in exchange for payment.
  • We do not click-bait or use deceptive headlines to drive affiliate clicks.

If you ever believe an article violates these standards, email [email protected] and we will investigate and, where warranted, correct or retract.

When you click an affiliate link, the destination merchant may set cookies and use its own analytics to attribute the click. On our Acorn stair lift inquiry page, the referral form is hosted and processed by Acorn Stairlifts even though it appears inside an ElderHearth page. Information entered in that form is sent to Acorn and associated with our affiliate account so Acorn can respond to the inquiry and attribute a resulting sale. We may receive referral and commission status through the affiliate dashboard.

Review Acorn Stairlifts' privacy policy before submitting the embedded form.

For more on how data is handled on this Site, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Updates

When we add or remove affiliate programs, we update the list above and the "Last updated" date.
