Walk-In Tub Quote Example: What Is Included and Missing

Walk-in tub quote example: read the $9,477 Transfer32 sample line by line, what shipping covers, and the installation costs it leaves out.

ElderHearth offers general information, not financial, legal, or installation advice. Prices and terms come from one dated sample and can change. Confirm the current quote, tax, delivery, warranty, and local code requirements before paying.

This walk-in tub quote example starts with a $9,477 total that is not a $9,477 bathroom. The sample below covers one configured Transfer32 tub and curbside shipping, and it leaves installation and any bathroom modification for a separate contractor quote. The lines show which costs are settled and which are still unknown.

What this sample quote covers

The sample is an anonymized customer quote supplied by Ella's Bubbles to ElderHearth. The customer name, address, and delivery ZIP code were removed; the line items and amounts are as issued. It is dated October 22, 2026, and valid through October 29, 2026.

The quoted model is a Transfer32 walk-in tub, 32 by 52 inches, with dual drains, configured with Air + Hydro + Microbubble. The sample lists a residential delivery address outside Illinois. The quote is a snapshot for one configuration and one delivery area. It is not a national price, a current public offer, or evidence that a customer paid, installed, or used the tub.

The itemized lines, explained

Line Amount What it tells you
Transfer32, Air + Hydro + Microbubble $8,427 The configured tub, not a bare shell. The quote lists a 24-inch seat, 13 hydro jets, 17 air jets, a microbubble jet, an LED light, a five-piece fast-fill faucet, two stainless grab bars, dual drains, and one reversible end panel.
Heated seat and back $598 A separate comfort option. The base tub price does not include it.
Door and drain position, left hand $0 This choice is recorded at no extra charge on this quote. That does not make every door or drain position free on every model or order.
Additional end panel $250 A second end panel for an alcove installation. It is tied to the installation layout, not simply a luxury upgrade you can cross out.
Curbside delivery with liftgate $502 Freight to the removed delivery ZIP code. Curbside means at the curb, not inside the bathroom.
Extension panel filler kit $0 The sample records it as not needed; it is not a free item included with every order.
Subtotal $9,777 The lines above before discount and tax.
Discount -$300 A discount on this quote, not a sitewide code or a standing ElderHearth offer.
Sales tax $0 The quote says sales tax applies only to orders shipped within Illinois. The sample lists $0 for its quoted delivery address outside Illinois.
Total $9,477 The manufacturer-side total for this configuration and delivery. Installation is not in it.

The arithmetic is consistent: $8,427 + $598 + $0 + $250 + $502 + $0 = $9,777, minus $300 is $9,477.

What the $9,477 leaves out

The quote says installation is not included. It also says Ella's Bubbles does not sell installation; the installer or contractor the customer chooses quotes that work, and any bathroom modification beyond placing the tub is quoted the same way.

That leaves a list of costs that belong in the project budget but are not in this number:

  • Labor to move the tub from the curb into the bathroom and set it in place.
  • Demolition and disposal of an old tub, shower, or flooring.
  • Plumbing changes, including drain and supply work.
  • Electrical work for the tub's motor, heater, or lighting, as required by the specific model.
  • Permits, inspections, and any required plans.
  • Repair or replacement of walls, flooring, trim, or waterproofing after the tub is set.
  • Stairs, elevators, tight turns, or a long carry that changes the delivery plan.
  • State and local taxes that may apply to the tub, the installation, or both.
  • Financing charges, if any.

Some of these may be bundled into a contractor's price. Do not add a second line for work already included in that quote. Make the scope visible without stacking every possible cost. The installation checklist turns those checks into a pre-order walkthrough. If you are still choosing the brand, our Ella's Bubbles review covers the models and the direct-purchase route.

Manufacturer total vs project total

On this direct-purchase sample, the manufacturer quote and a separate local installer quote cover different work. The manufacturer quote covers the tub, its options, and freight. The installer quote covers the local work and the responsibilities that come with it. A dealer package that sells the tub and the installation together is a different contract, described in the Ella's Bubbles review.

Do not fill the installation gap with a guessed number. A made-up install estimate turns an honest unknown into a false project total. If you need a single planning figure before you have contractor quotes, label it as a placeholder and replace it with written quotes before you order.

Ella's own cost explanation and installation explanation describe the same split. The pages and this sample are not a quote for your bathroom.

How to ask an installer for the same scope

Send the contractor the model name, the specification sheet or drawing, the door and drain position, the end-panel layout, the delivery method, and photos or measurements of the path from the curb to the bathroom. Ask for a written quote with the same lines you are comparing, not one lump sum.

A short message works:

I am considering a Transfer32 walk-in tub, 32 by 52 inches, left-hand door and drain, with a second end panel for an alcove. The manufacturer quote includes curbside delivery with a liftgate but no installation. Please quote the labor and materials to bring it in, set it, and complete the bathroom work, and list what you exclude. Please also state who pulls the permit, who handles inspection, and what labor warranty you provide.

Ask each contractor the same questions:

  1. What is included in the install price, and what is excluded?
  2. Who moves the tub from the curb into the house, and who is responsible for damage during that move?
  3. Who opens the wall or floor, and who repairs and waterproofs it afterward?
  4. Who pulls the permit, and who meets the inspector?
  5. What electrical and plumbing work does this exact model require?
  6. What happens if the doorway, turn, or floor cannot take the tub?
  7. What labor warranty comes with the installation, and who honors it?

What the seven-day window does and does not mean

The quote is valid through October 29, 2026. That is a price-validity date, not a delivery date and not an installation schedule. A seven-day quote does not mean the tub arrives in seven days.

The sample also uses the phrase "no deposit." The quote explains: there is no deposit or partial payment; an order is placed when the customer responds to the confirmation invoice and pays it in full, and the tub is assembled and tested to order after that. "No deposit" here means no partial payment up front; the full amount is due when the order is placed, not "no payment until later."

Ask what happens if you cancel before the order, after the order but before assembly, after assembly, and after delivery. Get the answer in writing for your order, not from a general page.

What to confirm before paying

Delivery and access. Confirm curbside delivery, liftgate, appointment window, and who brings the tub inside. The sample's $502 shipping line does not include in-home placement.

Tax. The sample lists $0 sales tax for its quoted delivery address outside Illinois, and the quote says Illinois sales tax applies only to Illinois shipments. That does not establish that every out-of-state buyer owes no tax. California's use tax explanation is one official example of a state tax that can apply to an out-of-state purchase. Ask a tax professional about your state.

Returns. Ella's shipping page, read October 26, 2026, gives a 30-day return policy unless the invoice says otherwise. Ella's return policy explanation, read October 28, 2026, says that window runs from delivery. The ordinary conditions are a brand-new, uninstalled tub in original packaging, return authorization first, a restocking fee of 25% of the original order amount less taxes and shipping, buyer-paid return freight, and deductions for damage or missing parts. An installed tub is not a home trial. This sample includes a factory-installed heated seat and back and Microbubble. Ella's returns and refunds basics, read October 28, 2026, states: "Adding a factory-installed option such as the heated seat and backrest or the microbubble system turns your tub into a custom order, and your invoice will note that the tub becomes non-refundable." On that page, the note rules out a change-of-mind return, while freight damage and a factory defect stay on separate paths. The October 22 file is a quote supplied to ElderHearth, not this buyer's confirmation invoice, so today's general page is not that order's signed terms. Before paying, ask Ella for the written change-of-mind, freight-damage, and factory-defect terms for this configuration.

Warranty. Ella's warranty page describes a limited lifetime parts warranty for the original purchaser at the original installation address. Installation, removal, replacement, and repair labor are excluded. The thermostatic control valve has a separate one-year limited warranty, and third-party faucets follow their maker's terms. Ask for the written warranty for the exact model and order.

Payment. Confirm the amount due, when it is due, and which payment methods are accepted. The sample's payment sequence is not a financing plan, and it is not a promise that another seller or dealer uses the same terms.

Use the same table on your own quote

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this walk-in tub quote include installation? No. The $9,477 total covers the configured tub, options, discount, and curbside shipping. Installation and bathroom modifications are quoted separately by the installer the customer chooses. Ask that installer for a written quote with the same lines you are comparing: what is included, what is excluded, who pulls the permit, and what labor warranty applies. Do not fill the installation gap with a guessed number.

Is $9,477 a national price for a walk-in tub? No. It is one dated quote for one Transfer32 configuration, one delivery ZIP code, and one set of options. A different model, door style, end panel, delivery area, or date can change the manufacturer total, and none of it includes local installation.

Does the quote include shipping? It includes curbside delivery with a liftgate to the removed delivery ZIP code for $502. It does not include bringing the tub into the house, upstairs, or into the bathroom.

Does a seven-day quote mean the tub arrives in seven days? No. October 29, 2026 is the last date the quoted price is valid. It is not a delivery or installation date.

Is the sales tax really zero? The sample lists $0 sales tax for its quoted delivery address outside Illinois. The quote says Illinois sales tax applies to Illinois shipments. Other states may impose sales or use tax on the buyer, so confirm your own obligation.

Does the ordinary 30-day return apply to this configuration? Do not assume it does. This sample includes a heated seat and back and Microbubble, and Ella's returns basics treats those factory-installed options as a custom order. The October 22 file is a quote, not a confirmation invoice. Before you pay, ask Ella for the written terms for a change-of-mind return, freight damage, and a factory defect on this configuration.
